With the objective of producing a guide, the most practical as possible, we have used the following criteria which have been applied in a flexible way, depending on the situation of contemporary dance in each country.
General criteria
Registers related to Contemporary Dance that stimulate international exchange
Festivals, dance series, etc.
Events that have been continued for at least 3 years
Non-competitive
Preferably with a curatorial line that sets as priority the investigation of new languages.
Preferably with international projection
Spaces
With a minimum of 2 years of existence
Preferably with a regular contemporary dance program
Preferably with a curatorial line that sets as priority the investigation of new languages.
Preferably with international projection
Professionals
Preferably the ones who work in initiatives that stimulate international exchange.
Dance articulators recognized in the local scene (and preferably international): programmers, cultural managers, producers, choreographers, dancers, activists, etc.
Other dance professionals from the Academic scene: critics, theoreticians, researchers, etc.
(We’re not including – for the moment being – neither companies nor choreographers except for those who are doing actions of articulation of the sector, preferably with international projection).
